THE WEATHER CHANNEL ADDS FEATURE FILMS TO NETWORK SCHEDULE

The Weather Channel is going to start airing feature films, movies which are in some way weather themed, beginning with The Perfect Storm. Remember the days when you could turn on MTV and see music videos? Well it appears the days where you could tune into the Weather Channel for weather forcasts might be soon behind us as well.

Lineup:

  • Oct 30th - The Perfect Storm
  • Nov 6th - March of the Penguins
  • Nov 13th - Misery
  • Nov 20th - Deep Blue Sea
During “The Weather Channel Presents…,” viewers will continue to receive their localized weather forecasts throughout the film, where it can be seen on the lower portion of the screen in addition to any severe weather alerts or warnings.

The Weather Channel.. weather/nature themed movies.. i get it.. wait… Misery?

Not surprising at all. They’ve had 30-60 minute shows for years now.

This seems a little different than their shows though. I feel bad for folks in the Midwest, since I’d imagine tornado warnings will be replaced by showings of “Twister.” And here’s my Nostradamus prediction for December 21st, 2012 on the Weather Channel: “The Day After Tomorrow.”
