Ars Technica Review of VMWare Fusion 3
Pretty good review of Fusion 3, as anyone would expect, coming from Ars Technica. I don’t see any terribly compelling reason for me to upgrade from version 2, except for this:
Some minor new things in version 3 include the ability to select a specific network adapter for bridged networking (with optional IPv6), and the ability to finally override the Ethernet MAC address of the virtual adapter on the UI.
Parallels has always let you choose the NIC used for virtual machines under bridged mode, and it’s really nice to see the option finally show up under VMWare, especially for those of us using VPNs on the host machine—which prevents the usage of bridged mode VMs—and wished to use a different NIC allowing bridged mode on a VM.
