Philadelphia’s favorite form of cancer has returned in the form of number 3. I grew up as a huge fan of the Sixers and Iverson, but as time went on, I lost a tremendous amount of respect for him as a person, and as a team player. He’s one of—if not the most—exciting basketball players I’ve ever watched, but this will hurt the team far more than it will help them. It’s purely an attempt to get fans in the Wachovia Center for a reason other than hockey (my favorite sport), and it’ll fail at even that.

For the sake of the Sixers, I hope I’m wrong about this. But I wouldn’t be saying it if I thought it was an incorrect assessment.
