We have two Tivos here, and both maintain persistent connections to tivochat1.tivo.com on TCP port 5223, which is usually used for encrypted connections between Jabber clients and servers (and given the hostname, this makes sense). I’m just curious as to what the hell they’re doing with this connection. Maybe for getting the Tivos notifications about recordings scheduled online? Maybe it’s time to install Wireshark on my firewall, hah…
